To me this duo powerfully express what black metal is all about: icy spite reserved for those who deserve it, carefully built atmospheres, and a raging rawness to the vocal delivery and drums. All three of their albums so far, though brief, pack a solid emotional punch and have an introspective dimension I deeply appreciate. Highly recommended.

Demo, unique œuvre de Nattestid (un autre mrojet de Vinter), est extrêmement courte et ne tient que sur quatre minutes. Et non : ça n'est pas du grindcore mais bien du black metal atmosphérique — car oui, il est bien possible de créer une atmosphère aussi rapidement. Si la batterie blaste sans discontinuer, elle est ultra variée et c'est à se demander si Vinter n'a pas des tentacules à la place des bras. La guitare, saturée, à un riffing redoutable tandis que WV gueule comme un fou. Jouissif !

Dans Genom Dödens Svarta Törst, Digerdöden renoue avec un black metal atmosphérique plus assumé, ce qui laisserait croire que Gestalt af Smädelsens Dolda Hord n'était qu'une interlude — à moins qu'elle ne fût une introduction ? C'est un dialogue terrifiant qui s'engage entre la Peste Noire qui semble s'incarner en une forme bestiale, monstrueuse et s'impose face à des êtres en train de la supplier. La musique est un tourbillon funèbre, psychédélique et parfois même dissonant. C'est phénoménal !
